Pinups - Yufei

This commission was really fun to do! It was for a friend from a friend! Two lovely ladies that I haven't seen much unfortunately since high school. Yufei is now a nurse, and Caroline wanted to surprise her for her birthday. Drawing a caricature of somebody you know is always doubly fun - it's a lot easier to capture their personality!

The client as well as the recipient were both really happy with it! As am I!

Pinups - Christina

Another fun Pinup commission! This lovely lady, Christina, is a makeup artist! She requested to have only the bust for her pinup and she requested to be wearing her favorite necklace.

I think it turned out fresh and fun!

Painting - Moodscape - Exploratory work

Back to painting! This time we had to create a background with a "mood" to it, and paint it in two different color palettes. I wasn't that inspired... so finally in desperation I just had to pick an idea and go for it. It's not the most original I admit, but I think the bunny makes it slightly fun to work on.

Here is the exploratory work we had to do before starting on the final pieces.

First a tonal study. Gouache on Watercolor paper.

And four color comps. Gouache on Watercolor paper. Exploring different color themes.

Digital Tools - Flash Maleficent - work in progress!

More fun with Flash!

This time we have to animate a flash "rig". So basically a symbol based character.

I decided to have fun and I'm going to animate my sexy version of Maleficent. Here's what she looks like:

Had fun designing this background as well. The tower in her castle.

Decided to make a dragon banner for the background. I kind of like the way it turned out.

Pinups - Kimberly

Here's a pinup I did for the lovely Kimberly! Her big 3-0 is coming up, and this was her birthday treat to herself.

She loves sexy lingerie - and the heart lollipop was her idea! ^_^ I think it turned out super cute!

Animation - Expressions Change - research!

So I'm getting ready for my head-turn/expressions change/lip sync exercise for Animation. I chose Miguel from "Road to El Dorado" because I want to keep practising humans, as well as his expressions are TO DIE FOR! I rewatched the movie (for research, I swear!). And I grabbed some of my favorites.

The clear winner first:

And here are some other gems:

Happy Valentine's Day!

Happy V Day! Here is a Valentine's card I whipped up - to encourage myself to one day finish my Alice animation! ^_^
