Studio Technique - Facial Anatomy Class

I just had the pleasure of taking another course (this time a 3 day seminar) with Samantha Youssef at Studio Technique! I technically learnt all the facial muscles while at Sheridan, but as always, I learnt so much more while taking Sam's class!

I had a lot of fun! And I'll be looking forward to taking the next seminar that's on Animal Anatomy. I'm stoked for that!

Here are some exercises I did for the class. First is a step by step process in drawing a realistic expression, including drawing the skull, and all the muscles that are active. And finaly, we had to create a series of expressions with a character of our own design. As with all new drawing approaches, it will take some time to master and I can't help but feel that most of these are really stiff and awkward looking... But at least I had fun trying!

And finaly here is my character. I reused my Sheep Herder man from my Weight Lift Toss assignment, which you can check out here:

Animation - Espresso Machine Card

As a mini side project, I animated this card for my good friend George's birthday! :)

He's a fan of Espresso, so I animated this Fleischer Brothers rubber hose Espresso Machine in his honor! It was a little bit rushed, but I had a lot of fun! I think he liked it!

Here is a still!

Pinups - Shannon

Here is a new pinup logo that I did for the lovely Shannon for her blog called "Stickers and Glitter". She has two little girls, and she said the inspiration for her blog name was that she keeps finding stickers and glitter all over her house!

She was an amazingly positive client and I had a lot of fun working on it! So here is the pinup!

And here is the blog header

And here is Shannon's blog, already sporting its fabulous new header! :)

Happy Father's Day!

Happy late Father's Day! :)

I collaborated with my darling sister, Iwa, to create a card for my Dad. Iwa helped compose the lovely text I drew this illustration.

To my Grey Wolf Dad! Best Dad in the world! (I'm the cub on his back)

In Polish it says: All the best for, Father's Day!

Pinups - Bianca and April's Wedding Pinup!

All the world's happiness to these two lovely ladies who just tied the knot yesterday! By some ill luck, I had bought my ticket to Poland the day before, so I couldn't wish them all the best in person. As a small consolatio prize, I drew this wedding pinup for them, which my sister brought to the wedding so at least a tiny part of me would be there!

They looked as stunning as I had pictured! So happy for them!!!

And here is what the beautiful brides looked like in reality! Got the shoes wrong!

Layout - The Great Stagecoach

Final project this year! Layout! Sir Bielicki doesn't let us off easy. But now, I can probably draw a stagecoach from memory, in my sleep, with my teeth.

At least drawing the horses was fun. Seems that some things, you can't forget. All the horses in these layouts were done from memory - using no reference.

The task - using a provided Western themed script, draw 5 full layouts. One had to be a pan, one an establishing shot, and three of them had to be consecutive.

If you wish to check out the original prop design for the stagecoach, it's right here:

I give you, my blood sweat and tears, of the Wild West.
