Inktober - Oct 04 - Horsies!

So despite the really shitty, rainy, windy weather - we went with Sheridan to sketch horses today... Which would have been lovely, if not for the above mention weather.

I think considering my frozen hands and the rain, my Inktober 04 - didn't turn out as bad as it could have. You could imagine how heroically I shielded my paper with my body, to avoid a big rain drop smudging everything!

To give you a clue of the elements we braved, I snapped the scene with my frozen hands:

And here are some of my rough sketches that I managed to get down. Sadly my 2 best pages got handed in, and I didn't get a chance to take a picture. Oh well!

All in all, I do wish the weather had been nicer to us, and that we would have been alotted more time. Maybe when I go back home to visit my Mom, I will draw some more horsies then!

Inktober - Oct 01 -02

I found out about the Inktober challenge! Where you draw one sketch with pen and ink a day. It's been so long since I did pen and ink sketches, so I thought I might take up the challenge, despite homework and work.

Since I found out only today - I will post 2 sketches! Hopefully I will have enough time to keep going all month.

First, I drew the Pena Palace of Sintra - brushing up on Castles, which we have to draw for layout. Lines are a bit wonky, but oh well.

Ocotber 1st!

Next, I was watching "How to Steal a Million" with Audrey Hepburn, and drew some sketches of her. Oh how I love her outfits.

October 2nd!

Character Design - Weight Lift Toss - Baca Jakub and Lala

First assignment for character design! Design the character for our animation exercise - Weight Lift Toss.

My character is called Baca Jakub (baca means sheep herder in Polish Highlander slang), and his sheep, Lala.

Now I'm off to do a crazy amount of thumbnails to figure out my animation! :D So excited!

So here are my Weight Lift Toss poses:

And Here is Baca Jakub sneezing - for an in class exercise!

Took a while to figure him out! Here is some exploration:

Animation - 24 hr film

So I took part in a 24 hour film with classmates from Sheridan. It was exhausting - and a bit crazy. Although it was fun - I don't think I can ever do this again! I value sleep way too much.

The subject was: Interpret the quote from Orwell's "Animal Farm" : "All animals are equal, but some are more equal than others".

It was a tough subject, so our story could have been stronger. In the end, we had to go with something, so here it is!

I got to animate the pig! Animation done in Flash, bg's in Photoshop.

So here is "V.I.P." - by Team Texmex -

Raymond Dunster
Ali Kellner
Tex Minos
Tina Nawrocki
Julius Campbell

Painting - Outdoor Scape - Studies

First real project for Painting this year at Sheridan. The theme was very broad. Outdoors!

I decided to go with a pine forest, like the kind I loved horseback riding in back in Poland. Ah, nostalgia.

Here are my tonal studies:

And here are my color comps! Still not sure which one I'll go with.
